North 40 Board of Directors Positions and Descriptions
President
Spend most of your time acting as facilitators and communicators among the Board and property owners. This position requires strong leadership, management skills, and efficient communication skills. They never make decisions on their own but rather make sure all members of the board can give opinions and be heard. Decisions are made only after discussion and with the best interests of the community in mind. They are responsible for preparing meeting agendas.
Vice-President
Main role is to support the president. They stand in for president in meetings that they can't attend or in duties they are unable to fulfill. They may be assigned certain tasks or projects to lead. This position should be a person who is flexible, a strong communicator, and can manage multiple projects at a time.
Secretary*
This position is responsible for delivering meeting notices, taking minutes from meetings, and maintaining all association records. This includes homeowner information and records. They work closely with the president to develop meeting agendas.
Treasurer*
They handle all financial transactions- both incoming and outgoing. They are responsible for collecting dues and issuing payments to vendors as approved by the board. Responsible for scheduling and assisting at the end of fiscal year an audit with a CPA, as well as preparing the budget and income and expenses report for the rest of board. They should be very trustworthy, well organized, and responsible.
If the new Bylaws are approved, the President will serve a term of 3 years, the Vice-President a term of two years, the Secretary a term of 1 year, and the Treasurer a term of 1 year (or the combined Secretary/ Treasurer a term of 1 year). If the new Bylaws are not approved, all positions will serve from the time of election until the next annual meeting.
